Course Title: First Aid for Mental Health - ½ Day

Course Overview: This ½-Day course is aimed at providing learners with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions and the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost the person towards professional help.

• A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues • An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing • An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma • Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue

Entry requirements Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training. There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or equivalent. Assessment A range of methods are used, including practical and questioning (open and multiple-choice).
