These days more and more businesses employ personnel from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We also live in an increasingly ‘global’ business environment, often dealing with colleagues, customers and suppliers in many different parts of the world.
Within the Europe we use styles which are fairly compatible, but this is not true of countries in the Far East and Africa; they employ working and management styles which are significantly different. This easily leads to misunderstandings, creating conflicts and operating problems. (There are even significant differences between the operating styles of North Americans and the UK, even though we think we speak the same language!)
