Course Title: Legionella awareness
Course Overview: On average there are approximately 200-250 reported cases of Legionnaires’ disease each year in the United Kingdom (UK). It is thought, however, that the total number of cases of the disease may be generally underestimated; infection with legionella bacteria can be fatal in approximately 12% of reported cases.
This course is intended for any managers or staff who have legal responsibilities with regards testing, monitoring or managing legionella in the workplace. It
outlines what legionella is, how it causes harm and what are our responsibilities in safeguarding against it.
