An opportunity has arisen at WS Training for a Apprenticeship Engagement Officer to join our busy Apprenticeship Recruitment Team. You will be responsible for delivery of starts on apprenticeship programmes and maintaining/gaining business internal and external relationships. To promote and safeguard the good corporate reputation of WS Training and to raise awareness of the available training programmes and methods of delivery by the most appropriate means. To provide unbiased information and guidance to all applicants, whilst ensuring appropriate funding and resource is available to continue training delivery and centre expansion.

Principle Accountabilities

- To take ownership of promoting business development (primarily Apprenticeships) with all external contacts to increase Apprenticeship revenue across all sector skills areas

- To utilise the apprenticeship levy to drive productivity, sales and the customer experience, and approach it as an opportunity to bring in new and more diverse employers onto programme

- To regularly monitor and update learner talent pools and recruitment trackers to ensure vacancies are filled timely and suitable apprentices placed with employers

- To maintain and update the current tracking systems for the learner engagement.
Meeting and exceeding KPIs linked to revenue and efficiency targets.

- Check and update learner vacancies on Government website and also to ensure internal trackers are updated daily; i.e. recruitment tracker and learner talent pool spreadsheet

- Carry out individual and group interviews for potential learners for learning programmes.

- Ensure that all learners are eligible for employment and programmes of study.

- Identify learners with mental health and learning difficulties and manage accordingly.

- Ensure tutors are notified and records updated, and learners are appropriately signposted.

- Develop resources to assist learners to gain employment.

- Organise and attend events relevant to Apprenticeships and other programmes.

- Develop new communication channels, test and prove existing channels through achieving agreed KPIs

- Engage key internal stakeholders as part of plan development and ensure plans achieve the goals of WS Training strategy

- Liaise with the Employer Engagement Team to maximise opportunities and assist where applicable in setting up learner and employer interviews

- Where necessary signpost learners to the Supported Learning Centre if not suitable for Apprenticeships.

- In order to help in the efficiency and smooth running of the Company, you may be required to help in any section, carrying out other work and other duties, as the workload so requires.

Responsibilities

- To develop data focused market engagement plans across all parts of the business to ensure KPIs are maximised.

- Contribute to and take accountability for the development, communication and delivery of WS Training’s vision and strategy.

- Comply with legalities such as GDPR concerning access to learner information.

- To ensure a sufficient plan is in place for attracting new recruits onto Apprenticeship programme development and delivery of market employer engagement strategies to deliver growth in programmes, research and education.

- Deployment of marketing best practice to deliver measurable increase in brand value, targeted to the goals of WS Training. To ensure brand and messaging integrity.

- Develop new communication channels, test and prove existing channels through regular monitoring.

- Engage key internal and external stakeholders as part of plan development and ensure goals agreed are achieved in line with WS Training strategy.

- To ensure adherence to Health & Safety (including Safe Learner concept), Equal Opportunities and Code of Conduct policies, Equality and Diversity and that all learners are given fair access to opportunities.

Knowledge & Experience Required

- In possession of broad experience within learner and employer engagement.

- Possess well-developed interpersonal skills and strong commitment to the job role.

- Enhanced understanding of Information and Guidance

- Enhanced DBS check required.

- Communicate required information with other departments and staff as needed.

- Comply with relevant legislation and policy, including Equality and Diversity, Health & Safety, Safeguarding and GDPR.

- Business Development/Learner Engagement Experience

- Knowledge of Apprenticeships

Qualifications

- Minimum of a level 3 Information and Guidance qualification
- Minimum of a level 2 functional skills or equivalent in maths and English
- Desirable to have a minimum of a level 2 ICT qualification
- Desirable to have a minimum of a level 3 vocational qualification
