An opportunity has arisen at WS Training for a Career Advisor to join our team, based at our Supported Learning Centre, Fore Street Ipswich. 

You will be taking responsibility for providing impartial careers information and guidance to support students with identifying their next steps. You will also be supporting students with securing work experience placements throughout their course. The role involves recruiting students onto our Study Programme courses in Ipswich and Colchester. Our students have a broad range of specialist educational needs and disabilities or barriers to learning. 

Ideally you will have:

  • recent experience of within learner and employer engagement
  • experience of providing impartial careers information and guidance (CIAG)
  • experience of developing programmes of study for young people who have experienced barriers to their lives and education
  • knowledge and understanding of the multiple barriers young people face and be able to develop support mechanisms / interventions
  • evidence of relevant Professional Development
  • robust knowledge of Safeguarding, Prevention and Equality and Diversity
  • well-developed interpersonal skills and strong commitment to the job role
  • Good ICT skills
  • a flexible approach.
