WS Training Ltd is a Quality Provider of Vocational and Commercial Training Programmes. Our work based learning department has a vacancy for a Functional Skills Lead to join our busy vocational department. Primarily this role will lead on functional skills requirements across apprenticeships and vocational areas, however the ideal candidate would also be able to assess in additional vocational areas dependent on their previous experience.

·       Manage the functional skills elements on courses as agreed with the Head of Skills

·       To work independently across the business to ensure the quality of the curriculum

        in Functional English & Maths and ICT taking actions to improve quality and

        to cascade best practice.

·       Lead on the development of staff, teaching methods and strategies as part of the

        business policy of continuous improvement.

·        Work with the assessor teams on their delivery models ensuring the embedding of

        English /Maths and ICT making recommendations to the Head of Quality

·       Formally review the functional skills curriculum, its delivery and effectiveness on an

        annual basis and to make recommendations for change.

·        Advise course teams on curriculum design, planning and delivery.

·       Act as Lead Internal Verifier for Functional Skills provision and to monitor and

        report on internal verification.

·        Ensure all Quality Assurance procedures are fully complied with.

·       Encourage assessor teams to develop formal and informal links with industry in relation

        to Functional skills and to ensure curriculum development is industry led.

·        Represent the business at relevant meetings.

·        Contribute in the production of the Business Development Plans.
